  1. I would love to have the opportunity to speak with you–I’ve not yet read your book but tomorrow I’ll see if I get pull some of your work from the journals. I was (and in some sense still remain) one of those diagnostic quandaries (I don’t fit into a box with a single diagnostic code, although they tried “Conversion Disorder” for ~10 years until my psychaitrist told the neurologist he was wrong–of course I needed a new neurologist after that). I have whitter matter lesions that don’t fit MS, they found I’d heriated a cervical dics (C5) anteriorly compressing the posterior cord (since repaired with residual myelomalacia) and am clinically dx with MG (Mestinon works/IVIG did/plasmapheresis does wonders–still can’t ride a bike). I’m a staff clinician, in the Moleulcar Imaging Program/Center for Cancer Research/NCI/NIH(US), but am giving a CME presentation on the theme of your work at my Medical School Alumni Association Reunion (Penn State/Hershey Medical Center/PA/USA) and have been scrounging thru the medical literature (of course not yielding much, bc, why would “they” admit it) to find out WHY DOCTORS DON’T Listen to AND BELIEVE THEIR PATIENTS..Nobody fits into a diagnosic box, which was arbitruary derived when a group of doctors thought they found a groups of patients to be within the box–your either in or out, and if you out oh well..
I would really appreciate your insight as I will be presenting evidence of the problem and then trying to obtain valuable insight from the group as to how they think things can be improved within the 15min they have with the patient.
